Position title: Assistant Engineer

The Assistant Engineer is responsible to assist Field Officer in Rural Water Supply program on site supervision and monitoring of the construction work of all water system constructed under the Rural Water Supply program. And will work closely with all the stakeholders in the respective areas.
Assist Field Officer on site supervision and monitoring of the pipe scheme water systems Assist site engineer on monitoring of tube well fitted with hand pumps. Supervise the activities of pipe scheme and tube well properly and assist staff technically. Assist the officer through monitoring/ supervision from gravity fed system, solar powered water networks and other water system constructed under the WASH projects. Check the quality of materials with the standards. Will monitor the project regularly and provide required support to project staff. Record the travel and maintain records. Assist Field Officer on material specification used in the construction Assist Field officer on checking of materials with BoQs and about its procurement process. Assist Field Officer in proper implementation of the work plan of the project. Assist the field officer on collection of required information for reporting of the project. Assist the field officer in each joint field visit with other stakeholders. Any other task given by the superior

Scope of Work/Job Summary:
As a Project Management Technical Assistant, he/she will be responsible for the /head of department, office document controls, reviewing the technical documents, preparing the technical reports and short proposals, and keep good and smooth communication and coordination with relevant stakeholders. His/her management role is to ensure that deliverables are produced with quality and on time by monitoring progress and providing advice and support. He must be proficient in the identification, analyses, and resolution of problems and effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of project activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in controlling and maintaining of technical documents and weekly meeting.
Preparing technical reports and developing short proposals (both in local and English languages).
Schedule weekly meeting with contractor /consultant and MoT management, keep the archive.
Arranging organizing all technical documents and design comments
Managing all correspondence, filing, emailing and incoming-outgoing calls and assist the engineering tasks related to design review team.
Provide technical assistance in collecting and interpreting of technical data and office administrative tasks.
Maintain sustainable coordination and communication with all relevant stakeholders in to prevent time waste to insure the quality of daily activities.
Follow up management meetings, Keep Minuets of Meeting for and from management
Review and carry design packages (scope of works, technical reports, BOQ, invoices, MOUS, List of staff and machineries)
Coordinate with the Contract Management Section.
Monitor the implementation of the works.
Regular submission and updating of all designs documents, Reports and other related documents to the projects.
Keep updating the senior staff on project documents and work schedule.
Perform any other duty in line with these ToR’s as directed by the Head of Technical Section.

PEG is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for our utility scale solar PV project team. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the planning, design, and engineering management of Solar PV plant developments in Afghanistan. A combination of technical and commercial skills is essential.
The main responsibility for this role is to provide ongoing and active management of our project development pipeline from a technical, engineering and commercial perspective and to ensure all objectives are met with respect to technical requirements, costs, schedules, quality, environmental, and safety during development of utility scale solar PV plants in Afghanistan, and other countries. This will include but is not limited to.
Manage and review the design phase of project including site selection, technology selection, civil and structural design, system configuration, grid connection, control systems and other aspects of Photo Voltaic power plant.
Understand and incorporate all relevant design criteria and construction standards for the PV plant and transmission & distribution network – local and international standards, codes, and regulations.
Support business development efforts during all phases of project pursuit, including due diligence, feasibility studies, proposal development, utility, and agency liaison,
Liaise and communicate with all local and international stakeholders, including funding agencies
Manage and ensure coordination of all project stakeholders and team members (EPC and O&M Contractors, Owners Engineers, field supervisors, document controller, HSE team etc) on site through effective resource and contract management.

Working as Safety Manager for USACE / USAID Project, Implementing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) & EM385-1-1 rules and regulations.
